Attachment training Course overview
Our attachment training meets the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 and the advice provided in the HSE Code of Practice L117.

Essential Theoretical Knowledge
- Effect of attachments on lift truck capacities and stability
- Principles of ‘lost load centre’ and ‘attachment centre of gravity’
- Fitting and removal of the attachment where necessary
- Examination of the attachment for the purposes of pre-use inspection
- Travelling and parking positions for the attachment including safe shut down procedures
- Normal use of the attachment for the purposes of transporting and stacking of goods
- Practical assessments of inspections and operating abilities
Course Duration
1/2 day – maximum of 3 trainees

Levels to suit all needs
NOVICE courses
The course for those with little or no experience with lift trucks or Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs). A thorough programme for getting you operating safely.
Experienced courses
Experienced (minimum 6 months), but untrained operators. This course is completed sooner than the novice counterpart, but it’s no less thorough.
instructor courses
If you are already a trained and experienced operator, you can elevate your skill by becoming an instructor. We provide all the essentials you need to do what we do.
refresher retest course
Updating your operating knowledge and skill with a one-day refresher course keeps your training valid and you
conversion course
Convert from one lift truck operator group to another in just one day.
racking safety course
A half-day course held at your workplace dedicated to promoting safety and awareness with your Racking System.
